GROUND BEEF WITH CORN, PEAS AND CARROTS

This is my own recipe. It is a Filipino inspired dish. I made it one day with whatever was in my pantry. My family said it's a repeat, it means it's good.

GROUND BEEF WITH CORN, PEAS AND CARROTS

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb lean ground beef
15 oz tomato sauce
4 oz whole kernel corn in can (drained)
8 ½ oz peas and carrots in can (drained)
1/3 cup chopped white onion
1 tablespoon soy sauce
½ cup water
salt and pepper

Directions:

Using a sautéing pan break down ground beef and cook over medium to high heat, sprinkle a little bit of salt and pepper while the beef is still raw. Add onions when the beef is cooked three quarters of the way thru. Once the beef is fully cooked add the tomato sauce, soy sauce, and water, mix it all together and bring to a boil. Bring down the heat to medium and add peas, carrots and corn and little bit more of salt and pepper according to taste. Simmer for 5 minutes. Serve with white rice or tortillas.
